On Saturday, February 8, Pacifica's founding robotics team set-up shop in McBride Gymnasium among 37 other teams to compete in this year's high stakes challenge.

Our students are the result of thousands of lives, choices, and sacrifices that came before them. That reminds us how precious and unique their existence is—a gift from God, shaped by generations of ancestors.

On Wednesday, January 22nd, Pacifica’s AP Art students had the lovely privilege of traveling to the Fieldstead Art Gallery in Irvine to see an exhibit entitled “Face Value.” The exhibit features an eclectic mix of portraiture from the 14th century up to the present day across a variety of media from oil paintings, to woodcuts, to sculptures.

It is our distinct pleasure to announce our finalists for the 4th Annual TGC Declamations Contest! There were many qualified candidates this year, but these nine finalists rose to the top. These students will now move on to our Declamations Finals event.

President Barry Corey gave a delightful talk to Pacifica students today on how to choose a college well, and how to make the most of it. He encouraged our students to find the college of best fit for them, to know each college’s guiding ideology, to seek a college that will prepare them to flourish in life and their career, and to find a place where they belong.

Peter Brandes died on January 4th, 2025. He was 80 years old. Brandes was a Danish painter and sculptor, who worked in stained glass and ceramics. He is perhaps most famous for his work on St. Andrew’s chapel at the Roskilde Cathedral, his Urns and stained glass pieces at the Village of Hope, the Library at St. Michael’s Abbey, and his resurrection relief wall and stained glass at Biola University’s Calvary chapel. 

We were honored to have Dr. Malcolm Guite as our guest speaker at the 2024 Lewis Dinner. The recording of his lecture is available for listening and sharing now.

What would we do without our incredible dedicated parent volunteers and their tireless service of our entire Pacifica community! Catch them in action this fall at various events; most notably serving around 400 of us at our annual Friendsgiving on November 22.
