This tournament is especially fun because it is a chance for students who just joined the team to get some practice in their preferred event.

Pacifica Fields 7 National Merit Commended Students

Pacifica is pleased to announce that 7 of our students have been named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Competition. Commended students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the competition by taking the PSAT this year. Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success and comprise less than 3.4% of the overall testing population nationally.

Robert McPhie was named a Coolidge Senator, a prestigious honor reserved for 100 of the top Coolidge Scholarships applicants (nearly 5,000 applied). Accepted members are invited to participate in the expenses-paid Senators Summit that takes place each summer. At the Summit, they'll learn about President Coolidge and his world and meet other high achieving students from across the country. The Coolidge Scholars Program is operated by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Fund.

The Council of Nicaea Turns 1700

It's not every day we get to celebrate a multi-millennia anniversary of anything, let alone one of the most "substantial" moments in Christian history (sorry for the pun...if you know, you know), but this last Tuesday, May 20th, was the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, from which the church articulated its longstanding belief about the the divinity of Christ and, eventually, by way of Constantinople, its fulsome doctrine of the Trinity.
