ACT Exam Score Distribution

May 8th, 2024

This week, freshmen and sophomore students were given a copy of their score report from the practice ACT exam that they took in March along with their test booklet. Students can use their score report and test booklet to check the questions they missed and learn from the mistakes that were made. These tests are grade-level practice exams, and therefore the results are not officially used for college admission purposes. Freshmen took the version of the exam called PreACT 8/9 and sophomores took the version of the exam called PreACT. Juniors took the official ACT and received a copy of their scores via email notification.

To gain a better understanding of your son or daughter’s scores, you can register for the ACT Scoreback Webinar hosted by AR Academics on Tuesday, May 21 @ 6:30 PM.

These exams are given as part of your child’s college preparatory experience and the results should be used as a tool to help students improve their results and prepare for future exams. Keep in mind that standardized tests are just one component that colleges use in their evaluation of students for admission and these tests are now optional at many colleges. You can check the websites of the specific colleges that interest your child for their test policy. Students will take grade-level ACT exams again in March 2025.

If your student was absent this week, they can pick up their scores in the College Counseling Office. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Brase if you have any further questions.
