Pacifica Christian High School Orange County invites students, parents, alumni, and friends to join us for our first online installment of The Great Conversation, featuring renowned philosopher, author, and educator Dr. Peter Kreeft.

In this special online lecture, Dr. Kreeft will explore the enduring conversation among the greatest philosophers, theologians, and writers of Western civilization. Across centuries, these thinkers have responded to, challenged, and built upon one another’s ideas as they wrestled with life’s most important questions: What is true? What is good? What does it mean to be human? What is ultimate reality?

Dr. Kreeft describes the philosophers of history as “Socrates’ children” because nearly every thinker who followed Socrates has grappled with the foundational questions he posed. From the ancient world through the medieval, modern, and contemporary eras, each generation has entered an ongoing dialogue with those who came before.

For Dr. Kreeft, studying philosophy is not simply an exercise in memorizing names, dates, or competing schools of thought. It is an invitation to participate in a living conversation across time by listening carefully, asking enduring questions, examining competing answers, and pursuing wisdom and truth.

This online event is presented through a collaboration between The Great Conversation at Pacifica Christian High School–Orange CountyThe Center for Philosophy and Theology at Pacifica Christian High School–Santa Monica, and The Augustine Center at UCLA.

We invite you to join this important conversation and consider your own place within the great intellectual tradition.

Get to Know Dr. Kreeft

The Great Conversation is honored to host Dr. Peter Kreeft. Dr. Peter Kreeft is one of the most widely read and engaging Christian thinkers of our time. A longtime professor of philosophy at Boston College and the author of more than 100 books, he has spent his career helping ordinary Christians wrestle with life’s greatest questions: Who is God? What is truth? What makes a life good? How can reason strengthen faith? And what does it mean to be fully human?

Our attendees will encounter a deeply Christian thinker whose work is rooted in a love for Christ, confidence in the truth of the faith, and a desire to recover the shared intellectual inheritance of the Church.

Known for books such as Handbook of Christian ApologeticsYou Can Understand the Bible, and the four-volume Socrates’ Children, Dr. Kreeft has a rare gift for making difficult ideas clear without making them small. With wisdom, humor, and an unmistakably Socratic style, he invites audiences not merely to study the great thinkers of history, but to enter their conversation and examine the questions that continue to shape our lives, our culture, and our understanding of God.
