Rinaldi_Anthony_240x320[Newport Beach, CA] – Pacifica Christian High School is pleased to announce Mr. Anthony Rinaldi will rejoin the Science Department in November 2017.

Mr. Rindaldi taught Physics and Mathematics during the 2016-2017 school year at Pacifica before heading to full-time graduate school. After a successful start, however, Mr. Rinaldi realized his true passion lies in a long-term career as a member of Pacifica’s faculty.

“Mr. Rinaldi has positively impacted the lives of many students–including my own–inside and outside the classroom with enthusiasm for teaching and an attitude of genuine encouragement and kindness. He guides his classes toward understanding math and science, while also demonstrating care for each person as a whole.” – Sydney Penticuff, Academic Prefect

Before teaching at Pacifica, Mr. Rinaldi majored in Physics and minored in Mathematics at Biola University where he was a member of the Torrey Honors Institute, engaging in Socratic discussions about the great writings of the Western tradition. During this time, Mr. Rinaldi learned to thoughtfully integrate his faith with the fields of science and math.

While at Biola, Mr. Rinalidi spent three years leading tutoring sessions for undergraduate physics and engineering majors as well as biology and pre-med students. Anthony thrived in this role, which cultivated his love of teaching, as he was able to minister to students both educationally and personally. He also served as a Teaching Assistant for a physics lab and participated in student-led research. Additionally, Mr. Rinaldi received a university grant to research prosthetic limb control using muscle and nerve impulses, with a focus on minimizing the hardware necessary for control.

In November, Mr. Rinaldi will rejoin the Pacifica team teaching Physics classes and continuing to invigorate the Science Department. He aims to teach these subjects not only as tools for problem-solving, but also to see the orderliness and coherence of the universe God created.

Mr. Rinaldi is married to Elizabeth, whom he met during his time in the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola.
